Diary of Elissa - "The Girlfriend"
Thanks for checking out my new blog! I'm a member here at SWC, but I am using an alias for my blog. I'm a thirty-something woman, in a live-in relationship with a man with three children. His ex has custody a short distance away. This blog will be filled with my experiences as well as my point of view on the P.A.S. my partner is experiencing. The visitation highs and lows, the child support ups and downs, the absolute craziness of an ex with Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as the many emotions I seem to feel as "the girlfriend " as my partner's ex affectionately calls me. I am finding this new lifestyle and role quite overwhelming. I'll do my best to include links to the various subjects I blog about. I have little experience in this situation and I'd really love to hear from you if you share any of my thoughts, experiences, or feelings!
What an amazingly quiet (yet interesting) last week or so... Dave suspects that the ex's lawyer had some strong words for her after reading the carbon copies of the last email exchange between the two of them...
I don't think she realized that by including her lawyer in her first self righteous rant, that Dave would consequently bring the lawyer right up to speed by including him in the entire "thread" . She certainly gave the lawyer plenty of reasons to tell her to shut her mouth. Since then, we haven't heard a peep except for an extremely unusual "Thanks for sending the sports registration money" email. Dave says he's never received a thank you for anything until then. She seems to have also loosened the reigns on the kids during sports events by allowing them to say hello - albeit ever so briefly. They come over, say hello, and then say "okay I have to go right back" (to "Mom".
Her lawyer consequently also asked for bank statements for the now closed joint account - all the way back to 2005 so that he could assess whether or not Dave should pay retroactive child support. Dave told them if they wanted bank statements that the responsibility was their own, and that he was not prepared to do their leg work for them. (duh?) After all of her screaming about how she had proof in the way of bank statements that he has been shorting her child support payments and how she was going to soak him for whatever she could... now she's asking him to give her bank statements? The funniest part? The bank wants TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS a statement if you ask for past statements. According to my calculations, it will cost $900 for bank statements.
I guess we'll see how badly she wants to pay the bank to prove that Dave not only overpaid her, but that she abused the account. Get your popcorn.
