SWC looks for information from experts in a variety of fields as well as features written by journalists and others with appropriate writing skills and style. Our site is primarily freelance written. We like articles that are based on research and interviews, presented with a friendly, accessible approach, and -- of course -- written for our audience. Works based solely on personal experiences is not always accepted. Our features run anywhere from 500-2500 words, depending on the subject and are considered on a case-by-case basis.
We do work with some previously unpublished writers, and hope to encourage all writers with our flexible publication terms, which allow authors not only to write for other publications, but also to reprint works.

We buy first online rights, exclusive for six months, and pay on publication via paypal only. We currently are able to offer $25 to $45 per feature article (dependent upon several factors, including length of article, topic and past writing experience) and $10 for first-person pieces and reprints.
